Concrete can be coloured, etched, and textured in an infinite number of ways. It’s also very durable, easy to clean and if sealed properly, stain resistant too.

Concrete floors should be installed by a professional for best result. But bear in mind that although it’s inexpensive as a material, the skill it takes to create a high-end finish can make it a relatively pricey option.

Obviously, concrete is cold and hard. To counteract this, under-floor heating can be embedded into the concrete substrate itself. Such systems are efficient at maintaining a consistent temperature and can substantially reduce your heating costs. Plus they do away with the need for unsightly radiators! With proper preparation and structural support, concrete flooring can even be installed in upstairs rooms. And it’s easy to lay other flooring, such as floating laminate, over the top if you fancy a change.
